Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Production Planning Engineer for a Queenstown facility. This role focuses on building and maintaining efficient production schedules aligned with demand forecasts and resources, with emphasis on minimizing lead times and controlling costs.

The ideal candidate brings at least 4 years in planning, strong data analysis skills, and proficiency with MRP/ERP systems and Excel.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or operations management.
Solid understanding of production processes, inventory control, and capacity planning.
Proficiency with production planning software (e.g., MRP/ERP systems) and advanced Excel skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and manage detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts and material availability.
Coordinate with procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure timely material supply and product delivery.
Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet targets and address unforeseen issues.
Optimize production planning to minimize setup times, reduce work-in-progress inventory, and improve resource utilization.
Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and propose solutions for improved scheduling efficiency.
Implement and maintain production planning software and systems.
