Placements24 invites a Lead Process Safety Engineer to join our Port Elizabeth team. You will develop and manage Process Safety Management programs, lead PHAs like HAZOP/LOPA, and drive a culture of safety across facilities. Strong leadership and regulatory knowledge are essential.

The role requires 8+ years in process safety within Oil & Gas, a related engineering degree, and CCPSC desirability. Office-based in Port Elizabeth with relocation support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years in process safety within Oil & Gas or petrochemical sectors.
• Deep knowledge of PSM elements (OSHA PSM, EPA RMP).
• Proven lead roles in HAZOP, LOPA, SIL studies and risk assessments.
• Familiar with API, NFPA standards and regulations.
• CCPSC certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain PSM programs across facilities.
• Lead PHAs including HAZOP, LOPA for new and existing sites.
• Oversee safety procedures, emergency plans, and operating procedures.
• Conduct safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Manage mechanical integrity programs for critical equipment.
• Provide training on process safety to staff and engineers.
• Drive safety culture and regulatory compliance in Port Elizabeth.
