Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dynamic Lead Nursery Teacher for a vibrant childcare facility in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will manage a team of nursery teachers and assistants, mentor staff, and deliver an engaging, age-appropriate program for children aged 3-5 years.

You will oversee daily operations, ensure a safe learning environment, build strong relationships with families, and drive continuous improvement in early childhood education.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years in an early years setting, with at least 1 year in leadership.
• In-depth knowledge of SA National Curriculum Framework for ECD.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
• First Aid certification is essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of nursery teachers and assistants, providing guidance and professional development.
• Develop and implement an engaging, age-appropriate curriculum that adheres to national early years frameworks.
• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons and activities that promote children's development.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and stimulating learning environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular assessments of children's progress and maintain detailed records.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on development.
• Organize and lead parent-teacher meetings and school events.
• Collaborate with management to continuously improve the quality of care and education.
