Job summary

Placements24 in Gauteng seeks an inspiring Lead Childcare Educator to oversee daily operations and educational programs at a busy Tembisa facility. This hands-on leadership role requires mentoring staff, developing age-appropriate curricula, and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for each child.

You will assess developmental progress, communicate with parents, organize parent meetings, and uphold high standards of care in line with our educational philosophy.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Early Childhood Education or related field (Diploma/Degree).
• 5+ years in childcare with 2+ years in leadership or supervision.
• Deep knowledge of child development and pedagogical approaches.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and mentor a team of childcare staff with guidance and support.
• Develop, implement and evaluate age-appropriate curriculum and activities.
• Ensure safety and well-being, following strict protocols.
• Manage daily classroom operations, routines and transitions.
• Assess children's development and document observations.
• Communicate with parents about progress and concerns.
