Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Software Developer focused on .NET Core in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. You will lead a team of developers, guide architecture, and drive the delivery of enterprise applications using .NET Core, ASP.NET Core MVC, and modern front-end tech.

You will mentor, design scalable solutions, perform code reviews, and collaborate with product managers and architects to meet client needs. Hybrid work arrangement and career advancement are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Expertise in C# and the .NET Core framework.
• Strong experience with web technologies, including ASP.NET Core MVC, Web APIs, and Entity Framework Core.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of microservices architecture, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software developers, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
• Design and implement robust, scalable, and maintainable software solutions using .NET Core.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to standards, and best practices.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other stakeholders to define project scope and technical requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues and bugs.
• Drive the adoption of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technology selection.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Ensure the delivery of projects on time and within budget.
