Placements24 is seeking a highly creative Remote Mechanical Design Engineer to drive product innovation from a home office. The role involves conceiving, designing, and developing mechanical solutions across diverse products, collaborating with a distributed team of engineers, designers, and product managers to bring ideas to market.

You will use 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360) to create models and BOMs, perform stress and thermal analyses, and ensure designs are manufacturable

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in mechanical design with a strong portfolio.
• Proficient with 3D CAD and FEA tools.
• Experience in DFMA, manufacturing processes, and remote work.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and develop innovative mechanical products and components using advanced CAD software.
• Perform stress, thermal, and kinematic analyses to validate design concepts and performance.
• Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Collaborate with remote teammates including PMs, electrical engineers, and software developers.
• Coordinate prototype development, testing, and validation remotely.
• Ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and scalable across production methods.
• Stay updated with new materials and design trends for product innovation.
• Document design iterations and testing results thoroughly.
• Contribute to brainstorming sessions for new product development.
