About the Role

Our client, a prominent player in the hospitality and commercial property sector in Cape Town, Western Cape, is actively seeking a Lead Industrial Cleaner & Sanitation Specialist. This critical role involves leading a team dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across multiple prestigious properties. You will be responsible for developing and implementing effective sanitation protocols, ensuring compliance with health regulations, and managing resources efficiently. The ideal candidate is someone with extensive experience in industrial cleaning, a keen eye for detail, and a proven ability to motivate and manage a cleaning crew. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate daily cleaning and sanitation operations for commercial and hospitality venues in Cape Town, Western Cape.
• Train new cleaning staff on proper techniques, safety procedures, and the use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Conduct routine inspections of all areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and adherence to hygiene standards.
• Develop and update cleaning checklists and standard operating procedures (SOPs) based on industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Manage the procurement and inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness and availability.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols, ensuring all staff are aware of and follow correct procedures for handling hazardous materials and operating machinery.
• Liaise with property management and other department heads to address specific cleaning needs and resolve any issues promptly.
• Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, inspections, and staff training.
• Ensure waste management procedures are followed correctly and efficiently.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all sanitation-related matters for the team.

Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in industrial cleaning, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
• In-depth knowledge of cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, and their safe application.
