Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a senior Lead Geoscientist for a fully remote role in offshore exploration. You will spearhead seismic interpretation, build integrated geological models, and guide a team of geoscientists from remote locations.

Based anywhere, you will mentor staff, present technical findings to JV partners, and stay ahead of new exploration technologies while contributing to strategy and portfolio management.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Geology, Geophysics, or related earth science.
• 10+ years of exploration geoscience, offshore experience preferred.
• Proficient seismic interpretation with Petrel, HampsonRussell or Jason.
• Proven prospect generation, risk assessment and resource estimation.
• Strong leadership and mentoring ability; clear communication.
• Experience with basin modelling, play fairway and sequence stratigraphy.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Geology, Geophysics, or a related earth science discipline.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in exploration geoscience, with a significant portion focused on offshore environments.
• Extensive experience with seismic interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, HampsonRussell, Jason).
• Demonstrated ability in prospect generation, risking, and resource estimation.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to mentor and develop talent.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable presenting complex technical information to diverse audiences.
• Experience with basin modeling and play fairway analysis.
• A strong understanding of sequence stratigraphy, sedimentology, and structural geometry.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
