Placements24 is seeking a Lead Remote Exploration Geologist to join a global mining exploration leader. This fully remote role can be based in Cape Town or any remote location, focusing on the analysis of geodata, remote sensing imagery, geophysics, and geochemistry to identify valuable mineral targets.

The ideal candidate will carry 10+ years of mineral exploration experience, hold a Master’s or PhD, and excel in geological modelling and GIS.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Geology, Economic Geology, or related earth science discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mineral exploration geology with emphasis on data analysis and interpretation.
• Proven ability to integrate and interpret diverse geological datasets (satellite imagery, airborne geophysics, geochemistry).
• Proficiency with geological modelling software and GIS platforms.
• Strong understanding of mineral systems and deposit types relevant to global exploration.
• Experience working fully remote with strong self-management and communication skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to articulate complex geological concepts.
• Experience leading geological teams or projects is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in distributed, international teams.
