Placements24 is seeking a highly creative Lead Game Designer to spearhead the design vision for Welkom-based interactive experiences. You will define core gameplay mechanics, systems, and player progression while leading a team of designers across art, engineering, and production.

The role demands deep knowledge of game systems design, player psychology, and engagement loops, plus a proven track record shipping titles on multiple platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in game design, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role.
• Proven track record of designing and shipping successful titles across multiple platforms.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex design concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Define and document core gameplay mechanics, systems, and player progression across various game titles.
• Lead and mentor a team of game designers, providing direction, feedback, and fostering a collaborative design culture.
• Collaborate closely with narrative designers, level designers, and UI/UX designers to create a cohesive player experience.
• Develop innovative player engagement strategies and monetization models.
• Prototype and iterate on game mechanics, ensuring they are fun, balanced, and technically feasible.
• Conduct playtesting sessions and analyze player feedback to refine game design decisions.
