Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Game Designer in Klerksdorp to conceptualize, design, and implement core gameplay mechanics, systems, and features for upcoming titles. You will collaborate with engineers and artists to bring concepts to life and shape player engagement.

The role requires at least 5 years in game design with two shipped titles, a strong portfolio in systems/level/narrative design, and proficiency with Unity or Unreal Engine.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in game design with at least two shipped titles in a significant design role.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating systems, level, or narrative design.

Responsibilities

• Design and document core game mechanics, systems, progression, and levels.
• Prototype and iterate gameplay features via scripting or tools.
• Collaborate with engineers and artists to ensure faithful implementation of designs.
• Conduct playtesting; gather feedback and refine designs accordingly.
• Mentor junior designers and contribute to studio design philosophy.
