Placements24 seeks a Senior Electrical Field Engineer for on-site leadership in East London, Eastern Cape. The role involves supervising installation, testing, and commissioning of complex electrical systems across multiple sites, with significant travel.

The ideal candidate has 6–8 years in electrical field operations, strong HV/MV expertise, and proven ability to guide teams while ensuring safety and quality standards on every project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant technical qualification.
• 6-8 years of experience in electrical field operations, installation, and commissioning.
• Experience with high-voltage and medium-voltage systems; ability to read schematics.
• Strong safety knowledge and ability to lead field teams.

Responsibilities

• Supervise installation and commissioning of electrical systems, including power distribution and substations.
• Conduct on-site testing and troubleshooting of equipment and circuits.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, specs, and best practices.
• Interpret electrical drawings and single-line diagrams accurately.
• Coordinate with clients, managers, contractors for smooth execution.
• Identify and resolve technical issues during field operations.
• Prepare site reports, progress updates, and handover docs.
• Mentor junior engineers and site personnel.
• Participate in project planning and risk assessments.
