Placements24 is seeking a Lead Drilling Engineer to oversee planning, execution and optimization of offshore/onshore drilling programs from a remote home office. You will drive safety, efficiency and cost-effectiveness while coordinating with global teams.

The role requires a proven track record of managing complex drilling operations, strong leadership and deep knowledge of drilling techniques, well control, and rig operations. Remote work with international project exposure is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in petroleum, mechanical engineering or closely related field.
• At least 10 years in drilling engineering and operations.
• Proven ability to manage complex drilling projects end-to-end.
• Strong knowledge of drilling techniques, rig operations and well control.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive drilling plans and programs within budget.
• Oversee selection and procurement of drilling equipment and personnel.
• Manage drilling operations with technical supervision for field teams.
• Implement and monitor drilling performance metrics and cost controls.
• Ensure safety, health and environmental regulations are followed, including remote oversight.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in drilling engineering and operations.
• Proven ability to manage complex drilling projects from conception through execution.
• Extensive knowledge of drilling techniques, rig operations, well control, and directional drilling.
• Demonstrated experience in managing remote teams and operations in the oil and gas industry .
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
