Job summary

Barloworld Equipment is seeking an experienced BI leader to head the analytics and Power BI reporting function in South Africa. The role combines hands-on development, governance, and stakeholder engagement to deliver trusted insights that support business decisions.

You will mentor analysts, drive analytics excellence, and ensure scalable, high-quality outputs aligned with business needs, while promoting adoption of Power BI across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Extensive Power BI experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong semantic modelling and DAX expertise.
• Experience in analytics leadership or senior technical roles.
• Experience with data platforms (Azure, Snowflake) and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and delivery of Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models.
• Define and enforce analytics standards (data models, DAX, UX, deployment practices).
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to BI developers and analysts.
• Own quality assurance across all reporting and analytics outputs.
• Partner with data engineering and governance teams to ensure trusted, business-ready data.
• Engage stakeholders to define KPIs, metrics, and reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and reporting standards.
• Drive adoption and effective use of Power BI across the organisation.

Minimum Required Qualification:

• Experience working with data platforms (preferably Azure and Snowflake) and SQL
