Placements24 seeks a Lead Control Systems Engineer for a hybrid role with our client in Rustenburg. You will drive innovative control strategies and lead a team across PLC/DCS, HMI/SCADA, and system integration for complex industrial projects.

The role emphasizes design authority, performance optimization, and clear documentation. A strong background in electrical engineering, 6+ years in control systems, and travel readiness are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechatronics or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 6 years in control systems engineering with project leadership.
• Experience with PLC/SCADA/HMI platforms and integration.
• Programming knowledge in C++, Python or similar.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Lead the design, development and implementation of advanced control systems for industrial processes.
• Develop PLC/DCS programming, HMI/SCADA development and integration strategies.
• Analyze performance, tune systems and troubleshoot to optimize reliability.
• Manage control system projects from concept to commissioning.
• Mentor and supervise a team of control systems engineers.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical and software teams for seamless integration.
• Create and maintain control logic and system architecture diagrams.
• Stay current with automation advances and technologies.
