Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in control systems engineering, including PLCs, SCADA, and HMIs.
• Proficiency in programming languages for major PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens S7, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley).
• Experience with SCADA software packages (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition, SCADAPro).
• Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
• Knowledge of instrumentation, sensors, and actuators used in industrial environments.
• Experience in the energy sector (power generation, distribution, or industrial facilities) is advantageous.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong technical documentation and report-writing abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently; willingness to travel occasionally to different sites within the North West region.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, program, and commission PLC-based control systems for energy infrastructure.
• Develop and implement SCADA systems for monitoring, data acquisition, and control of industrial processes.
• Configure and maintain Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems for user-friendly operation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to control systems, instrumentation, and automation hardware/software.
• Perform system diagnostics, performance tuning, and optimization to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborate with project teams, electrical engineers, and operations personnel to ensure seamless integration of control systems.
• Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including P&IDs, control narratives, and functional design specifications.
• Implement safety control systems and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., IEC 61511).
• Provide technical support and training to maintenance and operations staff.
• Stay current with advancements in control system technologies and automation trends.
