Placements24 is partnering with a prominent engineering firm in Gauteng to fill a Lead Civil Project Engineer role in the Tembisa area. You will steer the conceptualization, design and implementation of civil projects, with a focus on urban development and public infrastructure.

You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage stakeholders and contractors, ensure delivery on time and within budget, and uphold applicable codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive civil project management experience.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• Proven leadership of large-scale infrastructure projects from concept to closeout.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of civil projects across transportation, water, and wastewater.
• Develop project scopes, objectives, and deliverables with stakeholders.
• Oversee detailed design, specs, and construction drawings.
• Manage project finances, budgeting, and cost reporting.
• Direct engineering teams, consultants, and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring project success from inception through to completion, managing multi-disciplinary teams and complex stakeholder relationships. Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Expertise in project management methodologies and tools.
• Proficiency in industry-standard design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit MEP).
• Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working within the Tembisa area or similar urban environments is advantageous.
