Job summary

AECOM in Bellville, Cape Town, invites a Principal Engineer - General Civil to lead design and planning of civil infrastructure across multiple market sectors. The role includes client liaison, reporting, design review, and mentor-ship of staff, with accountability for deliverables and documentation.

You will oversee budgets and schedules while applying company quality standards, BIM workflows, and multi-disciplinary collaboration to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Engineering.
• 12+ relevant experience post qualification.
• Professionally registered with ECSA and/or CPEng/CMEngNZ.
• Own reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and planning of civil infrastructure including earthworks, roads, stormwater, sewer and water.
• Client liaison, reporting, design review and resource management to deliver documents and specs.
• Mentor staff and lead small to mid-sized project teams.
• Ensure projects follow AECOM Quality Management System.
• Develop cost estimates and technical effort for projects.
• Attend client meetings as technical lead and assist bids.
