Placements24 is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join their infrastructure design team in Benoni, Gauteng. You will lead municipal and private sector projects, oversee designs, oversee project timelines, and mentor junior engineers in a collaborative environment.

The role requires a minimum of 8 years' civil infrastructure design and project management experience, a BEng in Civil Engineering, and ECSA registration (Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng). Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised institution.
• Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng registration with ECSA.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant civil infrastructure design and project management experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D for design and drafting.
• Experience with hydraulic modeling software (EPANET, SWMM) is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of municipal infrastructure design principles, standards, and SA legislation.
• Proven project management skills including planning, scheduling and budget control.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead a team.
• A valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of municipal infrastructure projects such as roads, stormwater drainage, water supply networks and sewer reticulation.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs, calculations, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Conduct feasibility studies, option analyses and conceptual designs.
• Manage project timelines, budgets and resources.
• Liaise with clients, municipal authorities and stakeholders to meet project objectives.
• Conduct site visits and provide technical support during construction phases.
• Review designs and calculations by junior engineers and technicians.
• Ensure designs comply with standards, regulations and client requirements.
• Prepare tender documentation and assist in tender evaluation.
• Mentor and develop junior engineering staff.
