About the Role

Our client, a leading engineering consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with extensive experience in road and infrastructure projects to join their dynamic team in Benoni, Gauteng . This role requires a seasoned professional to lead the design, planning, and execution of complex civil engineering projects, including road networks, intersections, and related infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in civil engineering principles, project management skills, and a proven ability to manage client relationships and project teams. You will be instrumental in delivering high-quality, sustainable infrastructure solutions that meet the needs of the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of road and infrastructure projects from concept to completion.
• Perform complex calculations for geometric design, drainage, pavement design, and traffic management.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineering staff.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including surveyors, geotechnical engineers, and architects.
• Liaise with clients, government authorities, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
• Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, codes, and regulations.
• Conduct site investigations and provide technical support during the construction phase.
• Identify and propose innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.

Requirements

• Professional registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Tech Eng) with ECSA.
• Master's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on road and infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in relevant design software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, MX, or similar.
• Extensive knowledge of road design principles, traffic engineering, and drainage design.
• Experience in project management and contract administration.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage client expectations and build strong professional relationships.
• Experience working with local government and transport authorities is advantageous.
• Must be able to work a hybrid schedule in Benoni, Gauteng .
