Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Chemical Process Engineer to oversee complex chemical manufacturing projects at our Tembisa facility. You will guide a team of engineers in design, development and continuous improvement of processes to optimize safety, efficiency and environmental compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor's or Master's in Chemical Engineering with at least 10 years of experience, including 3 in a lead role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
• 10+ years of experience in chemical engineering with at least 3 years in a lead/supervisory role.
• Demonstrated expertise in process design, scale-up, and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of HAZOP analysis, process safety management (PSM), and environmental regulations.
• Proficiency in process simulation software and project management tools.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of complex chemical process projects from conceptualization through to completion.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of chemical engineers, fostering collaboration and high performance.
