Job summary

Toadbury Hall, a five-star country hotel, restaurant and events venue, is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and oversee culinary operations. You will deliver consistently high-quality food and guest experiences across weddings, conferences, private functions, leisure dining and special events.

The role requires strong leadership, menu development skills, and a track record in high-volume banqueting within upscale hospitality.

Qualifications

• Relevant culinary qualification.
• Proven experience as Head Chef or senior Sous Chef.
• Strong banqueting and high-volume events experience.
• Experience in hotel, lodge or upmarket hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead; train and manage the kitchen brigade.
• Plan and develop innovative, cost-effective menus.
• Oversee food preparation, presentation and service.
• Manage food costs, stock control, ordering and supplier relationships.
• Maintain excellent hygiene, health and safety standards.
• Coordinate kitchen operations for large weddings, functions and conferences.
• Ensure consistent quality across à la carte and banqueting service.
• Manage kitchen staffing, rosters and performance.
• Minimise waste and maintain effective portion control.
