Job summary

Toadbury Hall, a five-star country hotel, restaurant and events venue, is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and oversee culinary operations. You will deliver consistently high-quality food and guest experiences across weddings, conferences, private functions, leisure dining and special events.

The role requires strong leadership, menu development skills, and a track record in high-volume banqueting within upscale hospitality.

Qualifications

• Relevant culinary qualification.
• Proven experience as Head Chef or senior Sous Chef.
• Strong banqueting and high-volume events experience.
• Experience in hotel, lodge or upmarket hospitality environment.

Toadbury Hall is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and oversee all culinary operations across our five-star country hotel, restaurant and events venue.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering consistently high-quality food and exceptional guest experiences across weddings, conferences, private functions, leisure dining and special events.

Key responsibilities

• Lead; train and manage the kitchen brigade
• Plan and develop innovative, cost-effective menus
• Oversee food preparation, presentation and service
• Manage food costs, stock control, ordering and supplier relationships
• Maintain excellent hygiene, health and safety standards

Requirements

• Relevant culinary qualification
• Proven experience as a Head Chef, Executive Chef or senior Sous Chef
• Strong banqueting and high-volume events experience
• Experience in a hotel, lodge or upmarket hospitality environment
• Excellent leadership, organisational and cost-management skills
• A creative approach to menu development and presentation
• Ability to perform calmly and effectively under pressure
• Availability to work weekends, public holidays and hospitality hours
• Reliable transport to Muldersdrift
