Placements24 is seeking a Lead Blockchain Architect in Pietermaritzburg to define the technical vision for next‑generation blockchain infrastructure. You will design scalable, secure architectures for complex financial apps and enterprise solutions, and mentor engineers.

Lead core protocol design, evaluate technologies, set governance standards, and drive adoption across the organization while partnering with development teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in software architecture with focus on blockchain and distributed systems.
• Deep understanding of public, private, and consortium blockchain architectures, consensus algorithms, and cryptographic principles.
• Proven experience designing and deploying enterprise-grade blockchain solutions.
• Proficiency in smart contract languages (Solidity, Go, Rust).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of network protocols, security best practices, and data privacy principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to influence technical direction.
• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, IT, or related field is highly desirable.
