• Master’s or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in avionics systems engineering, with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• In-depth knowledge of avionics systems (FMS, navigation, comms, surveillance, autopilot, cockpit displays).
• Experience with avionics communication protocols (ARINC 429, AFDX, Ethernet).
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink; strong understanding of certification processes (DO-178C, DO-254).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, integration, and validation of avionics systems for new and existing aircraft platforms.
• Oversee the technical direction and mentorship of a team of avionics engineers.
• Define system requirements, architecture, and interface specifications for avionics components and sub‑systems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including hardware, software, flight test, and certification authorities.
• Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets for avionics development efforts.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable aviation regulations (e.g., EASA, FAA, SACAA) and certification processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex avionics system issues encountered during development, testing, and flight operations.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, including Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HIL) and flight testing.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of avionics design processes and engineering standards.
• Prepare and present technical documentation, design reviews, and project status updates to stakeholders and management.

Requirements

• Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in avionics systems engineering, with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• In‑depth knowledge of avionic systems such as flight management systems (FMS), navigation, communication, surveillance, autopilot, and cockpit display systems.
• Experience with avionics communication protocols (e.g., ARINC 429, AFDX, Ethernet).
• Proficiency in simulation and modeling tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink).
• Strong understanding of aircraft certification processes and standards (e.g., DO‑178C, DO‑254).
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience mentoring engineering teams.
