About the Role

Our client, a pioneering aerospace company with a significant presence in Mossel Bay, Western Cape , is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Aerospace Systems Engineer with a specialization in Avionics Integration. This role is pivotal in the design, development, testing, and certification of next-generation aircraft systems. You will be at the forefront of integrating complex avionics suites into new and existing airframes, ensuring seamless functionality and compliance with stringent aviation standards. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the integration of avionics systems, including communication, navigation, flight control, and surveillance systems, into aircraft platforms.
• Develop system architecture, interface control documents (ICDs), and detailed design specifications for avionics integration.
• Perform system analysis, simulation, and modeling to predict performance and identify potential issues.
• Conduct hardware and software testing, validation, and verification activities, including bench testing and flight testing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to avionics integration during development and production phases.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, as well as manufacturing and flight test personnel.
• Ensure all design and integration activities comply with relevant aviation regulations (e.g., EASA, FAA, SACAA) and industry standards.
• Prepare and present technical documentation, reports, and design reviews to internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of integration processes and methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in aerospace systems engineering, with a strong focus on avionics integration.
• Proven experience with various avionics systems and their integration into different aircraft types.
• Proficiency in systems engineering tools and methodologies (e.g., DOORS, MATLAB/Simulink).
• Familiarity with aviation standards and regulations related to avionics certification.
• Experience with aircraft communication protocols (e.g., ARINC 429, ARINC 664).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a dynamic environment.
• Experience working in the Mossel Bay, Western Cape area or willingness to relocate is preferred.
