Job summary

EdUpStairs in Cape Town is seeking a reliable Laundry Attendant to wash, dry, fold and iron linen, and assist with chemical mixing. The role requires basic literacy and numeracy, and physical fitness for manual labour.

You will load machines, monitor quality, sort and dispatch linen, prepare for ironers, and keep the work area clean. Previous central laundry experience is preferred but training is provided.

Qualifications

• Basic literacy and numeracy required.
• Experience in a central laundry setting preferred.
• Must be physically fit for manual labour.

Experience: Appropriate Laundry and Linen experience in a Central Laundry setting.

Duties

• Washing, drying, folding and ironing.
• Assist with the mixing of chemicals.
• Load and unload washing machines and tumble dryers.
• Monitor quality of work.
• Empty soiled linen bags for sorting, counting, sealing and stacking of linen bags for dispatching.
• Assist with the preparation of linen for the ironers and folding area.
• Keep work area clean.
