Job summary

Schauenburg International is seeking a lamproom operator to support safe operation of lamp room equipment and high-quality service in the mining sector.

The role requires a Grade 10 certificate with mathematics and physical science, at least 1 year in a lamproom or technical environment, and basic computer skills. You will perform daily tasks per DMR guidelines and collaborate with Lampsman and clients.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 certificate or equivalent with mathematics and physical science on standard grade (D symbol).
• At least 1 year experience as a lamproom operator and/or technical type role/environment.
• Basic understanding of lamp room equipment and tools.
• Good computer skills (Microsoft package).

Responsibilities

• Performs day to day activities in accordance with prescribed DMR guidelines and mine code of practice.
• Provides legal and competent services.
• Compiles and submits the necessary reports (legal documentation).
• Resolves all customer complaints and grievances in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintains lamp room equipment.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of internal/external procedures relevant to lamp room and attends training to maintain proficiency.
• Maintains housekeeping in area of responsibility.
• Liaises with Lampsman to ensure quality and safety and that contractual obligations are met.
• Liaises with visitors, clients, staff and others for general enquiries.

Operational Activities

• Liaise with Lampsman to assist in ensuring quality and safety of work and that contractual obligations are met
• Liaise with visitors, clients, staff and others to assist with general enquiries.

Support

• Provides efficient and effective administrative support and customer service as required.
• Keep Lampsman updated of all unresolved and/or potential problems that would negatively affect the customer or our company.
• Feedback on a regular basis to Lampsman.
• Participate as appropriate in quality programs implemented across the company.
