Job summary

Implats in Limpopo seeks a workshop maintenance specialist to ensure all areas are operated and maintained to company standards. You will manage contractors, keep legal files up to date, and uphold audit compliance across the workshop.

You will perform routine maintenance, schedule checks, support during breakdowns, and drive safety and efficiency initiatives while aligning with mine procedures and certification requirements.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 is essential.
• Relevant Trade Certificate is essential.
• 3 years surface area related experience is essential.
• 5 years experience in an occupation requiring a Trade Certificate is essential.
• Valid medical certificate or be medically fit to obtain such a certificate is essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that legal requirements for the workshop are met.
• Monitors and responds to deviation from legal procedures
• Applies correct procedure for the investigation and completion
• Communicates findings and promotes preventative methods based on previous reports and follows up as required
• Ensures that legal inspection requirements are complied with
• Ensures safe working environment
• Maintains contact with the relevant work leaders and their needs
• Ensures maintenance of safety installations
• Performs routine maintenance as required: schedules the checking and repair of equipment and component
• Ensures implementation of maintenance planning and identifies and/or predicts substandard performance of units or installations
• Reports defective equipment or components as required
• Conducts daily inspections of machines and components
• Assist during breakdowns or emergencies to coordinate support from each other
• Ensures material usage is to standard and reclaimed material is optimised
• Implements initiatives aimed at eliminating waste, improving productivity and reducing operating costs within scope and assist with the implementation thereof to contribute to the achievement of operational objectives
• Adheres to safety regulations and mine standards, procedures and practices and reports non-compliance
