Job summary

Schauenburgsystems in Springs, South Africa, seeks a lamproom operator to support safe operation of lamp room equipment in the mining sector.

The role requires a Grade 10 with maths and science, at least one year in a lamproom or related technical role, and basic computer skills. You will handle daily tasks, reporting, and liaise with Lampsman to ensure quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 certificate with mathematics and physical science on standard grade (D symbol).
• At least 1 year experience as a lamproom operator and/or technical type role/environment.
• Basic understanding of lamp room equipment and tools.
• Good computer skills (Microsoft package).

Responsibilities

• Performs day to day activities in accordance with the prescribed DMR guidelines and as stipulated but not limited to the mine code of practice.
• Provides legal and competent services.
• Compile and submit the necessary reports (legal documentation).
• Resolves all customer complaints and grievances in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain and monitor lamp room equipment.
• Maintains through and up-to-date knowledge of internal and external procedures, schedules and directives pertinent to the lamp room.
• Maintain housekeeping in area of responsibility.
• Liaise with Lampsman to assist in ensuring quality and safety of work and that contractual obligations are met.
• Liaise with visitors, clients, staff and others to assist with general enquiries.

• Feedback on a regular basis to Lampsman.
