• LLB or B-Degree in IR/Law/HR/Industrial psychology or related field.
• Admission as an Attorney or CCMA/BC Dispute Resolution experience advantageous.
• Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle is essential.
• 2 years experience in Alternative Dispute Resolution.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Must be able to effectively function within a pressurized and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Attend to all client matters and all phases of Labour Law ADR matters from investigation to arbitration.
• Provide Labour Law advice to clients and discuss complex cases.
• Research recent case law and prepare for disputes.
• Draft correspondence and gather evidence for witness testimonies.
• Represent/manage clients at conciliation, con/arbitration, and arbitration levels.
• Maintain case status updates and contribute to business growth.

Job Description

We currently have an exciting position available forLabour LawLitigator, to be working within our JHB branch.

You are responsible for

Inclusive of, but not limited to:

Attending to all client matters and all phases of Labour Law Alternative Dispute Resolution(ADR) matters/cases from the investigation, discovery, assessment phase through the pre-arbitration, conciliation, settlement, mediation, and arbitration processes.

Client Management:

• Billing target achieved
• Providing Labour Law advice to Clients, including consultation and presiding over all types of Labour Law matters.
• Discussing complex cases / disputes with Clients
• Analysing risk and probable dispute outcomes
• Assist with research on most recent case law
• Assist Clients with the preparation for different disputes
• The application of and/or interpreting laws, rules and regulations relating to dispute resolution
• Drafting correspondence to Clients, the CCMA/Council, Union Officials and other employee representatives.
• Gathering and compiling evidence, analysing evidence and the preparation of witness testimonies
• Representing/Managing Clients at conciliation, con/arb, and arbitration level as well as pre-arbitration proceedings
• Updating of case status on client management system
• Various other responsibilities, including, but not limited to those specified herein and other requests and instructions from time to time
• Contribute to growth and client management of the business

Quality:

• Matter files are in line with the required standard.
• Management of dispute matters to required standard

Client Retention:

• Maintain a high success ratio in disputes assigned to you.

Package & Remuneration:

Salary: Market related – R22950 to R26000 p/m dependant on background and experience

You’ll need a customer-first mindset and the following skills to succeed in this role:
