Phakisa Holdings (Pty) Ltd is recruiting for a Kitchen Staff member to join their team. The candidate will assist with daily food preparation, maintain high standards of cleanliness, and support kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires Grade 12, basic food prep knowledge, and the ability to work weekends and holidays. A reliable team player with good communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Experience in kitchen/food-service preferred.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen hygiene.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends/public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning ingredients.
• Assist chefs and kitchen staff with daily kitchen operations.
• Prepare basic meals and assist with plating and serving when required.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout kitchen areas.
• Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils, equipment, and work surfaces.
• Ensure food is stored correctly and according to food safety requirements.
• Assist with receiving, unpacking, and storing kitchen stock.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the Kitchen Manager or Supervisor.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and health and safety procedures.
• Assist with cleaning kitchen equipment and maintaining an organised workspace.
• Dispose of waste correctly and maintain a clean working environment.
• Work effectively as part of a team and assist colleagues when required.
• Perform any other reasonable duties related to kitchen and food service operations.
