Job summary

Kabstrading Co in Richards Bay is seeking a dedicated kitchen professional to manage hot-food preparation, grill to spec, and maintain consistent plating for a variety of dishes. The role involves handling deliveries, ensuring accurate weights, and maintaining high hygiene standards in a fast-paced setting.

You will also train junior staff on knife safety and prep standards, helping Banquets and conference lunches serve 100–400 guests with uniform presentations.

Qualifications

• Comfortable standing for long shifts in a hot kitchen.
• Willing to work weekends, holidays and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Clean down your section, deep-clean the fryer and scrub the extractor filters.
• Cook steaks, burgers and grills to the temperature on the docket.
• Receive deliveries, check weights and reject short-dated produce.
• Cook for banquets and conference lunches of 100 to 400 guests.
• Train the kitchen assistants on knife safety and prep standards.
• Plate to the spec photo so every dish looks the same.
