Job summary

Reload Logistics in Durban Umbilo is seeking a Key Account Controller to manage client relationships and oversee end-to-end shipment coordination, including imports/exports and cross-border transport.

The role requires at least 3 years of sea freight experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The position is permanent and on site.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience handling sea freight imports/exports (containerised and breakbulk cargo) as well as local and cross-border road transportation.
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with Salesforce systems is highly beneficial.
• Matric certificate required; an industry-relevant qualification is an advantage.
• Strong time management, high accuracy, efficiency, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Client Relationship Management
• Daily Updates: Provide clients with daily updates on shipment statuses and ensure prompt responses to emails and queries.
• Client Liaison: Coordinate with clients across all levels regarding transport allocations, vessel bookings, warehouse updates, rate requests, and general shipment requirements.
• Relationship Building: Maintain strong, professional client relationships through consistent and clear communication.
• System Management: Create and update job files accurately and timeously within the operating system.
• Documentation: Arrange complete, accurate documentation at every stage of the logistics process.
• Customs Compliance: Check cargo allocations and verify that correct corresponding customs documentation is issued or received.
• Data Accuracy: Audit operational reports for accuracy, proactively investigating any inconsistencies.
• Invoicing & Costing: Review and process client and supplier invoices promptly, ensuring correct rates are applied.
• Logistics & Supply Chain Management
• Coordination: Plan and coordinate transport bookings with nominated third-party carriers.
• Tracking & Monitoring: Monitor the daily tracking of trucks, containers, and vessels, actively resolving any transit delays.
• Border & Warehouse Liaison: Coordinate with border clearing agents, warehouses, and delivery points to ensure smooth cargo arrivals, dispatches, and clear documentation.
• Import and Export Relations: Take release of import and export shipments from various shipping lines
