Job summary

Express Employment Professionals Midrand is seeking a Junior Tool Maker or Tool Setter to set up and operate conventional tools and CNC/EDM processes in our Centurion workshop. You will work with milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, and plastic injection equipment to produce moulds and components.

The role requires a trade-tested Toolmaker with 1–3 years' experience, plus a relevant diploma or certification in manufacturing or plastics technology.

Qualifications

• Trade Tested Toolmaker with 1–3 years of experience.
• Diploma or certification in manufacturing/plastics is advantageous.
• Experience setting up/operating milling machines, lathe and grinders.
• Welding (MIG/TIG/ARC) skills required.
• Set up/operate EDM spark machines.
• Operate multiple CNC machines and plastic injection machines.

Responsibilities

• Lift, secure and prepare machined parts for processing.
• Set up and operate drill presses for holes.
• Study drawings/specs to plan operations.
• Verify dimensions with calipers, micrometers, indicators.
• Lay out and cut raw material to spec using machines/tools.
• Polish or texture moulds to specification.
• Assemble machined parts into moulds.
• Maintain workshop housekeeping and PPE compliance.
• Do overtime, weekends, and night shifts as needed.
