Job summary

NUTRI Feeds is seeking a Quality Control professional to manage on-site testing and ensure feed quality from raw materials to final product. Lead the quality team, ensure full traceability, and drive compliance with ISO standards.

You will support sales with technical advice, monitor Salmonella risks, and participate in training and development within the mill. The role demands attention to detail and strong leadership in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• BSc (Agric) Animal Science required with relevant experience.
• 1 year of experience in animal nutrition.
• Compliance with Act 27 of 2003 (Natural Scientific Professions Act).

Responsibilities

• On-site Quality Control: sampling and testing of raw materials and finished product.
• Develop and implement ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 standards at mill level.
• Ensure legal compliance including Act 36 and Act 101 and veterinary export requirements.
• Lead and motivate the Quality Team and ensure traceability of processes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for (included, but not limited to):

On-site Quality Control

• Manage raw material quality control on-site, including sampling and testing.
• Conduct standard analyses on incoming raw materials.
• Oversee final feed quality control on-site, ensuring representative sampling and testing.
• Conduct analyses on in-process raw materials and final feed.

ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 Compliance

• Develop and implement ISO 9001 and 22000 standards at mill level.
• Act as a Feed Safety and Quality member on-site, guiding the team to compliance.

Legal Compliance

• Drive Act 36 and Act 101 legal compliance.
• Ensure veterinary export compliance.

Quality Team Member

• Manage and motivate the Quality Team, ensuring compliance with safety requirements.
• Ensure complete traceability of all processes followed.

Sales Team Support and Customer Care

• Provide continuous technical advice and support to customers.
• Evaluate product performance and address customer complaints promptly.

Risk Control

• Support teams in bio-security compliance and Salmonella monitoring.
• Report on monthly results and investigate risks.

Training and Development

• Participate in Study Groups and train feed mill personnel.
• Engage in research and product development.

Requirements
