Job summary

Hire Resolve is seeking a Junior Technical Manager to lead quality control and feed safety within an established animal feed operation in South Africa. The role involves ensuring compliance with industry standards, providing technical support, and maintaining product traceability.

You will oversee the Quality Team, drive adherence to safety requirements, and work to resolve customer complaints while supporting R&D activities as needed.

Qualifications

• BSc (Agric) Animal Science or equivalent relevant qualification.
• Compliance with Act 27 of 2003 (Natural Scientific Professions Act).
• Minimum 1 year of experience in animal nutrition.
• Experience in animal feed, feed milling or related agricultural environment advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical ability.
• Good leadership and decision-making skills.
• Computer literate.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Junior Technical Manager to join an established animal feed manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for quality control, feed safety, technical support, legal compliance and customer care within the feed milling operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage on-site raw material quality control, including sampling and testing.
• Conduct standard analyses on incoming raw materials.
• Oversee final feed quality control, including representative sampling and testing.
• Conduct analyses on in-process raw materials and final feed.
• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 standards.
• Support feed safety and quality compliance at mill level.
• Drive compliance with relevant Act 36 and Act 101 requirements.
• Ensure compliance with veterinary export requirements.
• Manage and motivate the Quality Team while ensuring adherence to safety requirements.
• Maintain complete traceability of processes and quality procedures.
• Provide technical advice and support to customers.
• Evaluate product performance and assist with resolving customer complaints.
• Support biosecurity compliance and Salmonella monitoring.
• Investigate quality and feed safety risks and report on monthly results.
• Participate in study groups, training and development initiatives.
• Assist with research and product development activities.
