About the Role

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and nurturing Junior School Teacher to join their Foundation Phase team in Welkom . This role is perfect for an educator passionate about early childhood development and creating a positive, stimulating learning environment for young children. You will be responsible for delivering foundational literacy and numeracy skills, fostering social and emotional growth, and creating a safe and engaging classroom atmosphere in the heart of the Free State . The ideal candidate is dedicated to building a strong educational base for every child.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons for Foundation Phase learners, focusing on literacy, numeracy, and life skills.
• Create a warm, stimulating, and safe classroom environment that encourages curiosity and active participation.
• Observe and assess student development, maintaining detailed records and communicating progress to parents regularly.
• Implement positive behavior management strategies to foster a respectful and orderly learning space.
• Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support the holistic development of each child.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Education, specializing in Foundation Phase teaching.
• Relevant teaching qualification and registration with the South African Council for Educators (SACE).
• Experience teaching Grade R to Grade 3 learners is highly desirable.
• A genuine passion for early childhood education and understanding of child development principles.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.
