Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing estimates, budgets and bills of quantities.
• Take off quantities from drawings and verify measurements on site.
• Obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Support procurement and subcontractor appointment processes.
• Assist with preparing payment claims and assessing subcontractor payment applications.
• Record and measure variations and assist with pricing.
• Assist with monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts and final accounts.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation.
• Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants.
• Attend site inspections and progress meetings as required.

JUNIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR – BUILDING INDUSTRY
Location: Sandton, Gauteng

We are seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to assist with cost management and commercial administration on building construction projects. The successful candidate will support the project team with estimating, procurement, valuations and cost reporting throughout the construction process.

Minimum Requirements

• Completed BTech or BSc in Quantity Surveying – mandatory.
• Relevant exposure to the building construction industry will be advantageous.
• Understanding of measurement, bills of quantities, estimating and construction costs.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of quantity surveying software will be advantageous.
• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in Sandton and attend project sites as required.
