Job summary

Jobs 4 All is seeking a detail-oriented Quantity Surveying graduate/junior professional to support cost management across building projects in Sandton. You will assist with estimates, take-offs, and procurement activities, while coordinating with site teams and subcontractors to ensure accurate cost control.

Ideal candidates read drawings, interpret specs, and apply Excel skills to prepare bills of quantities and monthly cost reports, contributing to project budgets and final accounts.

Qualifications

• Completed BTech or BSc in Quantity Surveying – mandatory.
• Exposure to building construction industry is advantageous.
• Understanding of measurement, bills of quantities, estimating and construction costs.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of quantity surveying software will be advantageous.
• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in Sandton and attend project sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing estimates, budgets and bills of quantities.
• Take off quantities from drawings and verify measurements on site.
• Obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Support procurement and subcontractor appointment processes.
• Assist with preparing payment claims and assessing subcontractor payment applications.
• Record and measure variations and assist with associated pricing.
• Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets.
• Assist with monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts and final accounts.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and supporting documentation.
• Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants.
• Attend site inspections and progress meetings as required.
