Job summary

ShopriteX is seeking a Test Analyst I to translate functional and business requirements into test scenarios and cases, design test prerequisites and criteria, and prepare test data for execution. You will perform functional and non-functional testing, execute tests, and log defects with clear detail to enable investigation and resolution.

You will retest fixes, update defect statuses, and escalate high-risk issues while maintaining comprehensive test documentation and status updates.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Information Technology or a related field (essential).
• Formal software testing training, e.g. ISTQB Foundation Level (desired).
• 0-1 years experience in software testing, application testing or a similar role (essential).
• Practical experience in manual testing, SQL and Agile delivery environments (essential).
• Working knowledge of functional, system, integration and regression testing methods (essential).
• Exposure to API testing, automated testing tools, performance testing or user acceptance testing (desired).

Responsibilities

• Translate functional and business requirements into test scenarios and cases.
• Prepare test prerequisites, criteria and expected results using approved templates.
• Execute functional, non-functional, integration, regression and end-to-end tests.
• Log, classify and communicate defects with sufficient detail to support investigation and resolution.
• Retest fixes, update defect status and escalate unresolved or high-risk issues.
• Maintain accurate test documentation and provide progress updates.
