Job summary

Namibian National is seeking a mechanical engineer to support welding, piping and structural projects across offshore and onshore rigs. The role covers surveys, engineering, procurement, prefabrication and installation with guidance from the project team.

Ideal candidates have a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of two years’ experience, though fresh graduates will be considered. Travel to client sites will be required.

Qualifications

• BSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years experience preferred; fresh graduates considered.
• Understanding of steel fabrication and welding processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with management of welding, piping or structural projects.
• Adhere to steel fabrication and welding processes.
• Manage full life cycle of a project: survey, engineering, supply, prefabrication and installation.
• Understand project requirements from technical, schedule and budget perspectives.
• Coordinate with internal departments, suppliers and subcontractors for quotations.
• Prepare bids, offers and quotations for clients.
• Monitor projects to meet schedule and budget.
• Ensure drawings match client requirements before workshop dispatch.
• Coordinate with QC for NDT requirements.
• Liaise with Procurement for raw materials and on-time delivery.
• Prepare manufacturing instructions for the workshop.
• Travel to client sites (onshore/offshore) to follow up installation.
• Prepare Fabrication Data Books after each project.
• Prepare the Project Summary upon project completion.
