Our client, a specialty chemicals manufacturer, seeks a Junior Process Engineer to join their fully remote engineering team, based near Benoni, Gauteng.

This entry-level role offers hands-on exposure to process design, optimization, and troubleshooting, with mentorship to support your professional growth.

You will assist senior engineers with data collection, simulations, P&IDs, SOPs, and documentation while contributing to safe, efficient production improvements in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Strong academic record and understanding of chemical engineering principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with process simulation software (Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in the design and development of chemical processes.
• Support process data collection, analysis, and performance monitoring.
• Contribute to process simulation and modeling efforts using industry-standard software.
• Help in the development of P&IDs, SOPs, and other technical documentation.
• Participate in process troubleshooting and problem-solving activities.
• Conduct literature reviews and research on new technologies and methodologies.
• Assist in the planning and execution of pilot plant trials and experiments.
• Ensure all activities comply with safety and environmental standards.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations on project findings.
