Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Up to ~3 years' practical experience in maintenance.
• Familiarity with PPMs, breakdown maintenance, downtime tracking and maintenance schedules.
• Practical mechanical aptitude and familiarity with drawings.
• Ability to assist fault-finding and root-cause analysis.
• Excel and reporting skills; exposure to a CMMS is advantageous.
• Coordinate with maintenance and production teams.
• Willing to commute to Brits.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor PPM schedules and checklists.
• Assist with mechanical breakdowns and repairs under supervision.
• Record downtime, causes and trends; report issues.
• Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Maintain maintenance records, work orders and histories.
• Coordinate planning with production and maintenance teams.
• Follow up tasks and report progress and concerns.
• Assess mechanical components for repair or replacement.
• Compile maintenance reports and key performance data.
• Support equipment modifications and reliability projects.
• Adhere to safety and lockout procedures during maintenance.
