Placements24 in Pretoria is seeking a motivated Junior Mechanical Engineer to assist in mechanical design, analysis and testing under senior engineers. This hybrid role provides in-person mentorship and remote flexibility to build practical skills on varied projects.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, 0–3 years of experience, and basic CAD familiarity (AutoCAD/SolidWorks). Strong teamwork and communication are essential, with a keen desire to learn and grow

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of relevant experience or internships.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is a plus.
• Strong desire to learn and develop technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in the design and development of mechanical components and systems.
• Create and modify CAD drawings and documentation under supervision.
• Support the preparation of technical reports and presentations.
• Participate in prototype assembly and testing, collecting and analyzing data.
• Learn and apply engineering principles and company standards to assigned tasks.
• Contribute to problem-solving efforts within the engineering team.
