Responsibilities
- Assisting with the overall daily management of the business.
- Supervising and supporting staff across different operational areas.
- Ensuring excellent customer service and maintaining high service standards.
- Welcoming customers and dealing professionally with queries, complaints and feedback.
- Managing staff during shifts and ensuring adequate staffing levels.
- Assisting with staff scheduling, shift planning and daily allocations.
- Ensuring staff follow company policies, procedures and operational standards.
- Monitoring staff performance and providing guidance, coaching and support.
- Assisting with training and onboarding of new employees.
- Ensuring the venue is clean, organised and presented to the required standard.
- Monitoring stock levels and assisting with stock control and ordering.
- Minimising wastage, breakages and unnecessary operational costs.
- Assisting with cash-ups, daily administration and financial controls.
- Ensuring accurate completion of daily operational reports and documentation.
- Assisting senior management with achieving sales and profitability targets.
- Monitoring customer flow and ensuring efficient service during busy periods.
- Handling operational challenges and resolving problems quickly and professionally.
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety and hospitality regulations.
- Maintaining high standards of food, beverage and/or service delivery where applicable.
- Assisting with opening and closing procedures.
- Taking responsibility for the business during assigned shifts.
- Building positive relationships with customers, employees and suppliers.
- Supporting management with implementing new initiatives and improving operational efficiency.
- Acting as a positive role model and representing the company's values and standards at all times.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Previous experience in hospitality, restaurants, retail, customer service or a similar fast-paced environment will be advantageous.
- Previous supervisory or junior management experience will be advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literate.
- Good organisational and administrative abilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, weekends and public holidays as required by the hospitality industry.
- Ability to work approximately 50–60 hours per week.
- Valid driver's licence will be advantageous.
