Job summary

Hr-Simplified Ltd in Durban is seeking a Junior Operations Controller to coordinate daily transport operations, manage driver schedules, monitor vehicle movements and ensure timely deliveries and collections.

The role includes fleet coordination, transport documentation, port and depot bookings, client communications and strict adherence to company procedures. You will support with planning routes, PODs, and reporting while upholding safety standards across RSA and Southern Africa routes.

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics, transport or a similar operational role.
• Understanding of transport documentation, including Proof of Deliveries (PODs) and manifests.
• Understanding of port and depot procedures.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and monitor daily transport routes, ensuring timely delivery and upliftment from ports/depots.
• Dispatch, debrief, and communicate with drivers regarding schedules, delays, and changes.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance, ensure roadworthiness, and manage breakdowns.
• Process purchase orders, manage PODs and other documents; Toll & Diesel reconciliation.
• Provide ETAs, update on delays, communicate breakdown info, and resolve delivery queries.
• Ensure adherence to safety policies, company procedures, and manage incident reports.
