Job summary

Rentokil Initial in Cape Town is seeking a Junior Legal Counsel to support the Senior In-House Counsel SSA across South Africa, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. You will draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, and provide proactive legal guidance to protect company interests.

You will also assist in evaluating risk, managing legal documents, and delivering training across SSA regions. A strong grasp of contract law and stakeholder management is essential.

Qualifications

• LLB or BA LLB degree and SA attorney admission.
• Minimum 1 year of professional experience in legal advisory focusing on contract management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the Senior In-House Counsel SSA on legal matters for Rentokil Initial Sub Sahara business (SA, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania).
• Draft, review, and negotiate standard commercial contracts, procurement and supply agreements.
• Independently review non-standard contractual terms, addendums, and high-value customer variations, ensuring alignment with Group policies.
• Provide proactive legal advice and engage business units in respect of potential litigation or disputes to safeguard company interests.
• Prepare updates for the executive committee on key legal information and initiatives.
