OneDayOnly is seeking a Junior Legal Advisor to join our in-house team in South Africa. You’ll support drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts for the ODO group, ensuring regulatory compliance and practical guidance for the business.

Qualifications

• LLB, admitted attorney in South Africa and up to 1 year post-articles.
• Experience in corporate and commercial law, especially drafting/review.
• E‑commerce experience advantageous.
• Strong research, writing and communication skills.
• Able to learn quickly, work independently and with a team.
• Solid knowledge of South African law.

Responsibilities

About You

We're on the hunt for a Junior Legal Advisor who's ready to trade the articles grind for real in-house adventure. You're 1-2 years post-admission, you've got a soft spot for contract law, and you get a weird little thrill from spotting the one clause everyone else skimmed past. Fine print isn't a chore for you, it's basically a treasure hunt.

You'll be joining us to help keep the wheels of a fast, sometimes chaotic e-commerce machine legally sound, working shoulder to shoulder with our Legal Advisor and picking up serious hands-on experience along the way, contracts, compliance, company secretarial work, the lot. You ask good questions, you're not precious about being corrected, and you can turn "legalese" into something a normal human can actually understand. Responsibilities

• Assisting with the drafting, review and negotiation of commercial contracts on behalf of the ODO group (e.g. supplier agreements, trading terms and day-to-day operational agreements)
• Supporting the Legal Advisor in identifying and addressing the legal, regulatory and compliance matters of the ODO group
• Conducting legal research and helping prepare clear, practical legal advice for the business
• Assisting with updating and maintaining template documents and company policies
• Supporting dispute resolution and general litigation matters
• Helping monitor and flag new legal and compliance developments affecting the ODO group
• Assisting with the contract management system
• Building and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders of the ODO group
• Providing general research and administrative support to the legal team

Experience and Qualifications

• LLB, admitted attorney in South Africa, recently qualified or up to 1 year post-articles experience
• Some experience in corporate and commercial law is essential, particularly in contract drafting and review
• Experience in e-commerce would be advantageous
• Strong research, writing and communication skills
• Eager to learn, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good working knowledge of South African law in general
