Job summary

Herotel Telecoms (Pty) Ltd in Plattekloof is seeking a Junior IT Support to help colleagues maximise their technology. You’ll deliver first and second line support, set up laptops and equipment, and manage Microsoft 365 tasks to keep everyone productive.

This role is ideal for a detail-focused starter who is eager to learn, works well in a team, and takes ownership of issues from log to resolution.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) completed.
• IT certification (NQF 3) or currently studying towards IT Diploma/Degree.
• Experience installing, configuring and setting up laptops and devices.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications.
• Strong basic computer and application skills (Excel, Word, stock systems).
• AZ 900 or AZ 104 qualification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide computer and printer support to keep our teams productive.
• Deliver first line Microsoft 365 support.
• Maintain security software on all machines.
• Perform backups of critical systems.
• Set up laptops and equipment for our colleagues.
• Attend to all allocated tasks and tickets, prioritising by urgency and level of attention.
• Follow up on outstanding tasks and sign off completed work on the QContact system.
• Accept and log technical support emails and calls to the IT Department.
• Assist the Service Desk team with new equipment deployment, software installations, equipment collection, inventory and printer issues.

What you’ll need:

• A qualification in technical subjects such as A+, N+, AZ 900 or AZ 104 will be advantageous
• A highly developed sense of integrity, a strong work ethic and a team player mentality

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A proactive, accountable approach with strong attention to detail and time management
• Problem determination and resolution skills
• A willingness to learn
